Transportation

There are different means of transport in the city of Rabat.
Firtly, a small taxi will cost a minimum of 5 dirhams up to 100 dirhams or more depending on the distance of the journey you would like to do. These small taxis have the right to circulate only in the perimeter of the Capital.
On the contrary, big taxis can drive you outside the city, to any destination in Morocco. The prices vary depending on the destination you are planning to travel to.
Rabat has two train stations: Rabat Villa and Rabat Agdal. There are two tickets categorie: first and second class. The prices vary depending on the category and the wished destination.
Busses drive also inside the Capital. Nevertheless some of them can reach Salé or Temara. There are many bus lines in Rabat and they cost a maximum of 4 dirhams.
The bus lines that reach Agdal are number 4, 8, and 32.
The tramway circulates in Rabat from Mai 18, 2011. For every journey, from the smallest to the longest, the price is fixed on 6 dirhams, worth mentioning that there is a subscription of 250 dirhams. Line 1 is the one that goes to Agdal.

Meals

Many fast food places and restaurants are located in Agdal neighborhood near ILCS.
There are also supermarkets where you can go and do your weekly shopping

Documents to provide for student visa

Once you arrive to Morocco you must do three important things: complete your university enrollment at the university, find accommodation and then ask for your residence permit. As a foreign student, you have three months available to do it.
In order to apply for you residence permit you must ask for information at the service of foreigners at the National Security of the city where you live. Several documents are required:

  • certificate of enrollment
  • certificate of scholarship
  • leasing contract or water and electricity billor rent bill
  • 8 identity pictures small format
  • 60 MAD stamp
  • Administrative form to fill
  • Passport copy with last entry date

After submitting your application, we are going to give you a receipt that will replace your residency card before its delivery.
The residency card is valid during one year. If you are staying more time you should renew it.

Exchange rate

The Dirham (MAD) exchange rate is stable.

  •        1 EURO = 11.2 MAD
  •        1 GBP = 13,1 MAD
  •        1 CAD = 8.07 MAD
  •        1 USD = 8,3 MAD
