Rabat : Moroccan capital

Rabat, modern capital and historical city…

Placed on the Atlantic side, in North-West of Morroco, Rabat is the result of a fruitful dialogue between the Arab-Muslim past and the occidental modernism.
This place includes the “new city”, created and built under the French Protectorate in from 1912 to 1930, including royal residence, colonial administrations, residentials and administrative units, the “Essais” botanical garden…
We also find old parts of the city that sometimes come from XIIth century. The “New City” represents one of the biggest and the most ambitious urban project from XXth century in Africa, probably the most complete.
