Breathe in the fresh Moroccan air, we’re in Rabat, ILCS home a city where history and modernity intertwine beautifully. Picture a cityscape dotted with Andalusian gardens, royal palaces, and ancient ruins.  First off, the Kasbah of the Udayas, an ancient fortress overlooking the Atlantic. Its blue and white streets whisper tales of old.

Next, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, a jewel of modern Moroccan architecture housing the tombs of three Moroccan kings.

Imagine strolling through the Chellah, a medieval fortified necropolis bursting with history.  And don’t forget the modern side of Rabat! The Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, where Moroccan creativity shines.

There are different means of transport in the city of Rabat.
Firtly, a small taxi will cost a minimum of 5 dirhams up to 100 dirhams or more depending on the distance of the journey you do. These small taxis have the right to circulate only in the perimeter of the Capital.
Big white taxis can drive you outside the city, to any destination in Morocco. The prices depend on the destination you are planning to travel to.
Rabat has two train stations: Rabat Villa and Rabat Agdal. There are two tickets categorie: first and second class. The prices vary depending on the category and the wished destination.
Busses drive also inside the Capital. Nevertheless some of them can reach Salé or Temara. There are many bus lines in Rabat and they cost a maximum of 4 dirhams.
The bus lines that reach Agdal are number 4, 8, and 32.
The tramway circulates in Rabat since Mai 18, 2011. For every journey, from the smallest to the longest, the price is fixed to 6 dirhams, worth mentioning that there is a subscription of 250 dirhams for a month. . Line 1 is the one that goes to Agdal.

Where to eat when you are on campus?

Many fast food places and restaurants are located in Agdal neighborhood near ILCS.
There are also supermarkets where you can go and do your weekly shopping

Documents to provide for student visa?

Once you arrive to Morocco you must do three important things: complete your ILCS, find accommodation( ILCS helps with this) and apply for your residence permit. As a foreign student, you have three months available to do it.
In order to apply for you residence permit you must ask for information at the service of foreigners at the National Security of the city where you live. Several documents are required:

  • certificate of enrollment
  • certificate of scholarship
  • leasing contract or water and electricity billor rent bill
  • 8 identity pictures small format
  • 60 MAD stamp
  • Administrative form to fill
  • Passport copy with last entry date

After submitting your application, they give you a receipt that is your residency proof until you get your card.
The residency card is valid during one year. If you are staying more time you should renew it.
